Naturist Family-Friendly Rustic Rural Camping for Tents in Dorset - About Studland Summer Camp
About Us
Studland Summer Camp is a friendly, quirky, off-beat, tent-focused naturist campsite in a rural setting, with simple facilities and a unique character. To the founder of SSC, Roger Tripp, running the site was a labour of love. His enthusiasm for the camp spread, and ensured a welcoming atmosphere and a real sense of community spirit, inclusive of people from all walks of life.
Roger, along with a small band of helpers, continued to run SSC for nearly 40 years, until his untimely death in early 2020.

Naturist Family-Friendly Rustic Rural Camping for Tents in Dorset - Opening Dates at Studland Summer Camp
2026 Opening Dates
Studland Summer Camp opens for two seasons each year: a shorter one towards the end of May (Whitsun/Spring) as well as a longer summer season, typically starting mid-late July.
Whitsun/Spring 2026: Saturday 16th May - Sunday 31st May
Summer 2026: Friday 24th July - Wed 2nd September
The bank holiday period at the end of May is a wonderful time to be at Studland Summer Camp. The spring air is fresh and the whole area has a sense of coming to life. It is a slightly quieter time than the summer season, so is ideal for those seeking a more peaceful break.
The main summer season at Studland Summer Camp is glorious. The nights are often so clear that you can easily go stargazing, and it is occasionally possible to see the odd shooting star, thanks to the Perseid meteor shower that is set to peak around August 12th/13th this year! If stargazing is not for you, there are plenty of other ways in which to be wowed by your experience at SSC. See our "Nearby" page for more details.
